Rosarios Frozen Davao Langka 500 Grams Pack

Enjoy the unmistakable sweetness and tropical aroma of ripe Davao langka without the difficult work of opening and cleaning a whole jackfruit.

Rosario’s Frozen Davao Langka contains plump, ripe jackfruit bulbs prepared in Davao, then blast frozen and vacuum packed to help preserve their natural flavor, fragrance, color, and quality. The fruit offers a satisfyingly firm, crisp bite compared with langka that can sometimes be overly soft, mushy, or stringy.

Simply thaw and enjoy it chilled, or use it to bring the familiar flavor of langka to halo halo, turon, ginataang bilo bilo, fruit salad, smoothies, ice cream, cakes, pastries, and other Filipino desserts.

A Taste of Davao

Langka is one of the Philippines’ most recognizable tropical fruits. Its sweet fragrance brings back memories of halo halo, turon, family celebrations, and traditional homemade desserts.

The challenge is getting to the fruit. Opening a whole jackfruit means dealing with its size, thick rind, sticky sap, and layers of fibrous material before reaching the golden bulbs inside.

Rosario’s makes that experience much simpler. The ripe fruit is prepared in Davao, blast frozen, and vacuum packed so you can enjoy its distinctive sweetness and aroma whenever the craving strikes.

It is langka without the wrestling match. Simply thaw, serve, and enjoy.

How to Thaw

For the best flavor and texture:

  • Keep the package sealed.
  • Place it on a plate or inside a shallow container.
  • Thaw gradually in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
  • Open the pack once the bulbs are soft enough to separate.
  • Check each bulb and remove any seed before eating.
  • Serve chilled and consume promptly.

For a colder and firmer bite, enjoy the langka while it is still slightly frozen or partially thawed. The fruit will naturally become softer and juicier after complete thawing.

Faster Thawing

Place the unopened, leakproof package in cold water until the bulbs are soft enough to separate. Change the water every 30 minutes when necessary.

Do not use hot water or leave the package at room temperature for several hours.

Storage and Shelf Life

Before Opening

• Keep continuously frozen at −18°C or below.
• When properly sealed and continuously frozen, commercial vacuum packed fruit may last approximately 12 to 24 months, depending on the manufacturer’s validated shelf life.
• Always follow the best before or expiration date printed on the individual package.
• Keep the vacuum seal intact and protect the pack from punctures.
• Avoid temperature fluctuations and repeated thawing and refreezing.
• Do not accept or consume a pack that is warm, leaking, punctured, swollen, or no longer properly sealed.

After Opening

If you will not consume the entire pack:

  • Remove only the amount you need using clean utensils.
  • Transfer the remaining frozen langka immediately to an airtight, freezer safe bag or container.
  • Remove as much air as possible before sealing.
  • Mark the container with the date it was opened.
  • Return it to the freezer immediately.
  • Consume preferably within 1 to 2 months for the best flavor and texture.

Opening the original vacuum seal exposes the fruit to air and moisture. Over time, this can cause freezer burn, drying, odor absorption, and loss of flavor. The suggested one to two month period is a conservative best quality recommendation after opening.

After Fully Thawing

• Keep refrigerated at 4°C or below.
• Store in a clean, covered container.
• Consume preferably within 1 to 2 days.
• Do not leave thawed fruit at room temperature for an extended period.
• Avoid repeated thawing and refreezing.

Discard the fruit if it develops an unusually sour, alcoholic, or fermented smell, bubbling, package swelling, unusual discoloration, or other signs of spoilage.

Serving Suggestions

Enjoy Rosario’s Frozen Davao Langka:

• Chilled as a naturally sweet snack
• Slightly frozen for a colder, firmer texture
• Mixed into halo halo
• Added to turon
• Served with cream or condensed milk
• Added to ginataang bilo bilo
• Mixed into fruit salad
• Blended into smoothies and shakes
• Served with yogurt, oatmeal, or ice cream
• Used in cakes, pastries, and dessert fillings

For smoothies, the fruit can be blended while partially frozen. For turon, baking, or cooked desserts, drain excess thawed liquid first to help prevent wrappers or pastry from becoming soggy.

Important Consumer Information

• This is ripe, sweet jackfruit, not young green jackfruit used in savory dishes or as a meat substitute.
• Some bulbs may contain seeds. Check every piece and remove the seed before eating or preparing.
• Frozen langka may soften and release natural juice after thawing. This is normal.
• Natural variations in color, sweetness, size, and texture may occur between packs.
• The texture is best when the fruit is thawed gradually in the refrigerator and enjoyed chilled or slightly frozen.
• Once the original vacuum seal is opened, proper airtight storage becomes especially important.
